We do Translating and Interpreting for legal equivalence, working on the production of translations that are acceptable by a legal jurisdiction. PROTRAN is an Organization of computer-users who use assisted translation tools written in the Java programming language. It advocates open source software originally developed by James Snyder in 2000, and is currently developed by a team led by Linux users.

Ever since then, PROTRAN has promoted collaboration between translators who are using open source software by encouraging professionals to share their translation memories and Translation Memory eXchange.

PROTRAN translators can translate the following formats: text files (any text format which Java can handle) encoded in a variety of encodings including Unicode, HTML/XHTML, Java properties files, StarOffice, OpenOffice.org and OpenDocument, as well as DocBook files. PROTRAN offer direct support for OpenDocument formats using OpenOffice.org
